Grey College 2022 third term reduced to just two fixtures

Spare a thought for Grey College.

While other high profile teams gear up to complete the 2022 season on their own terms (including fellow top contenders Paarl Gim who have lined up only two matches), Grey has seen their interschools schedule halved from from four to two along the way.

The two third term fixtures that have disappeared are Pretoria Boys’ High and Glenwood, who have opted for interschools clashes against KES and Maritzburg College respectively, on the dates they were originally set to play Grey.

To compound the problem, whereas a school like Paarl Gim will play two in two weeks, Grey will play Grey High on 30 July 2022 and then wait a 21-day eternity before squaring off against Paul Roos, at the traditional season-ender minus the SA Schools players.

Grey are expected to be without at least 8 regular starters for the Maroons match.

@just4fun: Ongelukkig begin kostes ‘n baie groot rol speel in waar jy speel.
Ek vermoed Glenwood se rede was dalk baie dieselfde.

@just4fun: Nee.

Daar moet geldige redes wees.

So GW and PBH confirmed fixtures vs GCB and then just went and pulled out of them? Is there a good reason why they did this? If just for convenience then that is quite poor….

It is great that MC and Glenwood is playing one another.

That is the way the GCB cookie crumbles. They will sort it out for 2023.
