DPHS’s Zola Mazwi joins Maritzburg College & shares his Prep Dream Team

After 12 years at DPHS, KZN’s private school like leading state primary school, Zola Mazwi has decided to spread his wings and take up a post of Recruitment and High Performance at Maritzburg College, another of the province’s high standard setters as far as state education is concerned. He is bound to become a valued rugby coaching contributor at College rugby just as he was at Prep.

From the DPHS STAFF NEWS

By now many members of the Prep community will have already heard of the Professional Development position that has lined up for Mr Zola Mazwi – an opportunity that Mr Mazwi simply cannot ignore. He has been selected as one of the Recruiting Officers for Maritzburg College to secure learners from around our province and country. Mr Mazwi is well connected in this capacity and has always enjoyed this role of creating further opportunities for learners and their families to follow. Mr Mazwi is not moving to College to continue in the same responsibilities as he has here at DPHS but rather to pursue and grow this area of responsibility that he has been highlighted for. Mr Mazwi is planning to be married soon and this new move will provide a fresh working environment and stability in Pietermaritzburg for years ahead as a family.

He has dedicated himself personally to serving his beloved Prep school and the boys with distinction, having cared for and coached many boys over these years with great success. We know that DPHS will always be cemented in his heart as has been so clearly evident in his

dedication and commitment noted here. May this exciting challenge inspire you to even greater heights going forward Mr Mazwi in your serving of schools and children.

Thank you, with a mighty Prep cheer for your input and service given to Prep where you have always been willing and in the front-line to fly the DPHS flag at the highest levels. Mr Mazwi will celebrate his final day here on Friday 24 August before moving into his new position in Pietermaritzburg.

Congratulations Mr Mazwi!

DPHS is the rugby factory to KZN high schools, churning out many of the provinces most talented youngsters every year. Zola was kind enough to share his DPHS team of his time there.

A school like Kearsney certainly had their pick of these boys for many years (evident just from this dream team). Will be intetesting to see how Clifton start to make inroads here in the next few years. Although with Mr Mazwis move to College i am dure we will see that movement increase.
