Brug Straat, the Paarl Boys’ High home field and venue of the 2018 edition of Craven Week appears to be holding up reasonably well in spite of coming out of a drought, having a week long festival played on it and more recently having received ±200mm of rain over the past three weeks. There are exactly five weeks left for the field to recover ahead of the Craven Week start on Monday 9 July 2018. Hopefully by then some or all of the existing muddy looking patches will be sorted out. Even still playing conditions in the Cape at that time of the year is going to pose quite a challenge to provincial teams from the interior and the East coast.
