    It will be interesting to see the UKZN Impi team lists now that they have made the A level of Varsity Cup – and see how many familiar names get into the system that way.

    @beet: Beet.
    You may also add Gustav Marais [no.s 6,7 or 8] of Paarl Gim to the Sharks Academy and David Meihuizen [lock] of Boishaai to WP.

    @Kattes-Strofes: Thanks Kattes-S.

    I was really hoping the Bulls would produce their full list as well. I’m sure they will have about 15-20 names to add.

    Hi Beet. You may add Jean-Luc Cilliers to the Lions list. Boihaai,s fullback and prolific goal-kicker. He was recently signed. Now six of the 2015 Boishaai unbeaten side at the Lions.

    WP ,Bulls and Lions are going to have great sides on paper in 2016.Lions have a big pack and WP a great pack as well as skillful backs.By the look of the abovementioned squads it looks like an uphill battle is awaiting on the Cheetahs and Sharks.

    Min Pumas is raakgesien. Wat ek weet of vertel is van Nellies se kant af: JJ Beeby (Akademiese Week) gaan WP Akademie toe, Marnus van der Merwe gaan Frankryk toe en Dewald Maritz is die jaar Graad 11.

    Murrayfield. Ek is baie krities teenoor Onesport se betrokkenheid by skole ten aansien van werwing van spelers. Maar ingelyks moet daar ook erkenning gegee word waar dit toekom.

    Ek verneem dat julle (Onesport) uit julle pad gegaan het om vir een SA Skolespeler wat voorheen by die Bulle gekontrakteer was ‘n nuwe kontrak by die Lions te beding nadat die Bulls die speler se kontrak gekanselleer het. Hats off to Onesport!!!

    @Speartackle: gelukkig het staal nie dikte nodig nie ( met verwysing na laasjaar se wedstryd teen Frankryk waar Rheeder as 6 flank opgedraf het en oor die hele veld was met sy werksverrigting), moontlikke “groot” rugby op 6 flank agv sy size. maar daardie 3 kan groot skade verrig, Len was een van die uitblinkers op CW en kan hom insien op 8 of 7 speel. (Maklikker vir 8 om 7 te speel as 7 om 8 te gaan speel) dus goeie spanseleksie om meer 8 spelers te kies as 7 flanke soos in geval van Lions en laasjaar se SA skole span?

    Edmund Rheeder also 2014 SA schools player! Excited to se him in the looose forwards for Lions next year with Len Massyn and Henro Liebenberg for the Lions! Rheeder and his positional play and work rate sorely missed in Schools team this year! The selectors focused more on other positions than last year as last year thare was an arsenal of loose forwards!

    @Kattes-Strofes: Well, once again my maths is useless. I now see there is 118 players. Also eventually figured out that the 2/5 next to the various schools names, is to indicate the number of players of each school who received contracts. Proud to day Boishaai also no. 1 in this regard, with 7 players. Heard there is a possibility of another 3 matrics. Then at the end of next year, I expect that the likes of Khanya Nkusane, Manuel Rass and Salmaan Moerat will be in huge demand.

    Beet, If I counted correctly, there is 105 players on this list. Maybe you can keep these names, and in 5 years time , those of us still around, can see how many of these boys made the grade as professional rugby players. I hope and trust that the vast majority do make it, but recent history is not in their favour. Also hope that these boys will receive some form of education to assist them for life after rugby. Must add that the Lions insist that their players achieve a degree, diploma or sertificate while playing rugby.

    I must admit I have said a few things about Curwin and his defensive frailties but give him time @ u20 level. Don’t throw him to the wolves too soon or you will break him. Give him time to bulk up and become strong. His ball in hand ability is without question and with the right coaching he will be a very good prospect for the future. I do see him in the Fullback role though, where he will have space to work in and use his ability to read a game to its full potential.

    Nice to see who has signed up for the Kings. I suspect some will be used in this current campaign, like Vers.

    With all the pressure and demand to succeed one would have to atleast give guys to o/21 to show off. Remember the last we want is a youngster exposed too early in big teams and then lost forever.
    This is thier first exposure to other guys thier own level, so lets keep an eye on them and let the system work.
    I put my trust in those giving these talented boys a oppertunity, that they know them well enough to come out tops!
    Soo often we see premature decisions break boys before they even thought of a career.
    congrats to all those coming to the “Bull-ring”

    Moet Xander Janse Van Rensburg krediet gee waar dit toekom. Hierdie is weereens n puik groep spelers wie volgende jaar na die Bulle kom. Miskien nie so baie spelers van die Blou Bul voedings area as ek graag wou sien maar die Blou Bulle Craven Week span was, veral die voorspelers, meesal nog in Gr11. Die 2 Craven week BB voorspelers wie wel in GR 12 was, Van Heerden en Eduaan Lubbe, is top klas. Baie bly om Stassen na Pretoria te sien kom (hoop Mnr Stassen Snr sien die lig en steun die Blou vanaf 2016). Die Paarl Gim spelers wie na Pretoria gekom het in die verlede het nog altyd baie vrugte afgewerp. Ek voorsien dus die Paarl Gim outjies sal n positiewe bydrae lewer. Vermoed daar is nie veel provinsies wie saam die pak van die Bulle gaan blaf nie. Agterlyn. Eish. Hoendervleis. Papier. Libbok (klas, klas en klas. Amper soos Messi van Barcelona). Gans. Louwtjie Steenkamp. Om n paar te noem.

    @boxkick: I think your one issue is how much the kid has been hyped up. We seem to come from two different schools of thought. Where I come from, we encourage young boys, and point out their weakness as something to work on rather than something that will be their demise. To each their own I guess

    @playa – You can put money on the fact that he is not only going to miss tackles but run away from the contact situation. He has a foot on him and I will give him that, unfortunately in my view it takes more than that to be seen as this great player he is made out to be. And what has he achieved, he certainly was not the best 10 at CW this year. You are correct in that he didn’t choose the system and that’s exactly what I am getting at here, the system chose him.

    @boxkick: In 2016 ‘when’ he misses tackles and ‘fkcs’ out as a player, your comments will be of value. For now, seeing as you have nothing better to say, let us speak on what he has done and what he has achieved.Your tone smacks of bitterness, and I just hope you wake up tomorrow and realise that this is an 18 year old child you are dooming to hell. He didn’t choose this system, and I certainly don’t agree with it, but just let the boy be. Give him a chance to disappoint you at least.

    Is Ivan Smit (Monnas) nog op skool volg jaar?

    Ook daai 2 OVS Akademie senters ( Dawid Snyman en kan nie ander een onthou…dink Marnus Boshoff) asook Johan vd Walt die regtervleuel

    Coenie Kruger die Puma slot?

    Jordan Chait ( die beste skole losskakel van 2015 moes Lions toe kom….hy sal binne 2 jaar Super rugby daar speel)
