The death of WP, Cheetahs and Bulls seems to be on the cards if the Unions complies to a request from the Goverment to rather pick sides according to provincial borders.
This system is already in use in netbal, and cricket is in the process to comply. Netball in Gauteng is represented by three teams BUT all teams are picked from all over Gauteng. More or less the same children involved BUT who pick the sides?
This proposal will be discussed today at a meeting in Franschoek where all the school unions will be represented. Whatever is decided it seems a certainty that the number of teams will be reduced for next year’s tournaments in Durban. In another first the Academy and Craven week will also be played in the same week in the same province.
We are all waiting to see how rugby will implement this request. A few questions will have to be answered. Can the Lions and the Bulls really pick the best sides or will we be seeing a new level of trading of positions? Will the scouts still be able to promise Craven Week team selection to children as bait? And lastly we all know that most youngsters are contracted before the Craven Week, does this spell the end of the Craven Week as an provincial attraction?
@Speartackle: Daarmee, sal ons, sonder uitsondering, saamstem
@BOG: Ag ou Bog…..ek is ook in my moer
Welcome to the “Peoples Paradise”, of is dit Fools Paradise?
RIP
@Speartackle: Probeer n Grondeis insit teen Oubaai- met verbeterings
Another attack on the game of rugby. This will not stop until the last piece of it is destroyed. We are not allowed to compete at top level and need to be in sync with the performance of the other national sports.
Time to privatise the sport and therefor rid the sport of quotas, reverse discriminstion etc etc.
Am sick and tired of people just accepting whats going on in our sport specially our think they are oh so politically correct friends.

@BOG: Nee hy was eers op Heroldsbaai…..daar waar Oubaai is was sy plaas
@BOG: Ag Bog this will never happen…..it is just to upset the nation…..it is just like the Groot Trek that never happened……dit is net om die volk op te sweep
Not very clear, going by the write-up. WP, Cheetahs and BBs are mentioned, but what about the EC/Border region? The regime has absolute no sense of direction concerning important issues which could destroy this country in the next few years, but they feel compelled to interfere in boundaries of school teams. But, why should we be surprized?
