I think the Craven Week and GK teams will be good. An interesting mix from schools.

I missed some of the trial games….how did Michal de Beer from Hilton go? He has impressed me all year…really thought he would get a look in.

The U17 thing is to build a squad for the following year’s craven week. Succession planning…but ya…some unlucky U18s

So all under 18 players had no change to be selected for the ” academy team” B provincial team… ?????

@warriors7: I’m not sure if this is a call made across all unions or just some but the Sharks have decided to make the Academy side an u17 side this year. I see that SARU are also having an u17 camp this year (they didn’t have the u16 one last year due to Covid) so maybe this is part of a bigger picture

@beet: Just a question ? Do you know if the sub-unions (like Northern Natal) will also still be sending teams to the VKB weeks in Frankfort? and Reitz like they did in years past

Well done to the players selected and to those involved in the process.

There’s no such thing as a perfect pick and we all have opportunity to debate elements of selection but I really think the Craven Week selectors have done well in terms of rewarding deserving players.
