Monday turned out to be a sad day at Glenwood with news being shared that Peter Shedlock, an old boy from the Class of 1948 had passed away on Sunday, 03 February. Peter was a true gentleman and had been a dear friend to Glenwood, always willing to help out and generously supporting numerous worthy causes at the school. As a schoolboy, Peter was described as the golden boy of his year. He excelled at athletics, rugby, cricket and swimming. To this day a well-known picture of him scoring a try for the Green Machine can be found hanging on the wall in the boarding establishment.
Sincere condolences to Peter’s family members.
@ Grassy- in the photo there is a great picture of Peter scoring a try against the Flies( I think) . Even more reason for the schools to get back together as it will honor the memory of these great OBs ( besides the obvious benefits to the current scholars).
Always sad to hear of Old boys passing away, but he had a great innings so rest in peace Old chap. A great piece here on the Glenwood site; http://www.glenwoodhighschool.co.za/loyal-old-boy-passes-away
Life is indeed very fragile and death is not confined to the elderly. We need to be prepared- it can come any moment to anyone. May God comfort his family in these heartache moments.
Always a great loss when a school loses a supporter and old boy like this
