** SA u18 Sevens
*** 2nd year of Bulls u19
@BOG: En die ander 80% van die seniorspan is Oud-Affies; Nardus vd walt, Pierre Schoeman, Jacques-Louis Potgieter, Ivan van Zyl, Carlo Engelbrecht, Pierre Spies, Nicholas J van Rensburg, RG Snyman en Dean Greyling.
@Woltrui: No that oke reffed the u/21 final!
@Wyvern: What Beet said, only know of a few and not all, so I think Hertz might be going to PE.
As I understand it, Robert Lyons is on his way to PE, not aware if he is contracted or not.
@BoishaaiPa: Is that the CC and U/19 final which the One eyed blind drunken oke with the WP jersey refereed?
@Wyvern: I don’t have the Kings list of contracted players so don’t actually know for sure and basing it on Hertz having played for the Kings u19 this year while he was still at school. It’s a bit of a waste to give a game time to a player not committing his future to the union.
@SC99: Many of the Selborne stars are u17 this year so back at school next season. I guess Tango Balikile, Jason Steyn, Adrian Greig and Robert Lyons’ are the four u18 players that would attract the most interest for rugby after school but I have no idea where they are going in 2015.
@Beet@Lutz: Is it confirmed that Hertz is going to the Kings next year?
Great to see that St Andrew’s College has produced some players who are looking at furthering their careers in rugby. Where would all the Selborne College players be going?
@Woltrui: Just a quick check ou Wolla…Where is the Currie Cup standing again?..and the u/19’s?…With all that rugbyplayers and SA Schools an SA u/20 players you could only win the u/21 cup…while WP used some of their u/21’s to win the real McCoy!..Imagine if we start using rugbyplayers as well!
@beet: The u19 campaign will be about halfway in when Vers is available for the u19s, without a doubt Cameron Hertz is a good option at centre where he plays 12 or 13. I however like the idea of him at 15, he’s got a huge boot and is an imposing figure in the last line of defence, plus he wasn’t utilised at 13 this year, but had a few games at 15.
I reckon that might have been in line with the role Robbi Kempson and Mzwandile Stick want him to play when he joins the Academy. I agree, it is great that the Kings have a few good options in the back division next year. It was a little thin this year.
@Ludz: I thought that Vers would be at 15 whenever he is available. I know you have expressed concerns over Hertz’s distribution skills at CW but there he also showed at times what an impact he can make as a 12. But nice that EP have the options available.
@beet: I reckon Cameron Hertz will be utilized at 15, Jubase and Nyalambisa will be the options at 13. Jubase a better defender and playmaker at 13, he also has better distribution skills. He can pass 2 both sides with relative ease. Nyalambisa not the greatest distributor
Saru made a community study of the different rugby unions “make up”:
They decide the following:
The Charkies must pick at least 5 Indian player for their team.
Hiehiehiehie…. Flipit ek laakie daai Bergbokkies nie!
The Bulls must pick at least 5 English speaking players for their team.
The Lions must pick at least 5 Jewish players in their team,
The Cheetahs 5 PD players for the team.
Province must pick at least 5 rugby players for their team.
@Roger: Justice Roger. You’s Lions poached our young Ackerman from Garsfontein. Daar is nou vir jou n Bulletjie.
@beet: Maurice White is also a scrumhalf, not a #8. He also played a couple of game at 12.
@Woltrui: what I meant was – how did the bloody Bulls get him and not the Lions
@ Beet – including those you mentioned yes ai, I know you should have depth but geez. Burger and Jan should be first choice 12s for Bulle and both still very young so many years ahead, 13 is position still up for grabs maybe they will move Jan to 13 then these new youngers have a better change of playing for snrs.
@scrummie:
Dries Swanepoel
Burger Odendaal
Willa Small-Smith
JJ Engelbrecht
@Ludz: With Cameron Hertz and Jeremy Ward set to make up the power midfield and hard running Yamkele Nyalambisa there, Jubase has his work cut out at the Kings next year
Bulle will be having Franco, JT, Daniel Kriel, Jurie Linde and still a very young Jan Serfontein on their books as centres which is good but I just hope Bulle don’t loose one like they lost Rohan Janse v Rensburg to the Lions
@Buffel: A lot of efforts were made to sign him, he ultimately chose the Bulls, he’s good friends with Aston Fortuin. I think he might’ve ultimately convinced Jerry to move there. Kings will be getting Queen’s outside centre and captain. Exciting prospect
A couple of kids in this squad that missed the opportunity to attain higher honours : Devon Henson and Corne de Klerk were two players being raved about before injuries saw them miss out on CW. Tarentaal another who wasn’t at CW and got a lot of praise.
Interesting to see Sam Mitchell go from PBHS to Bishops for a few years and set to return to Pretoria.
Sarel-Marco Smith, SA schools prop from Eldoraigne not in the mix
@Buffel: I found a KZN player to add
No KZN players. That must be a first. Most of them have gone to the lions, some staying at home and the rest WP and EP. They missed a few opportunities here specially with most of the Glenwood side of Afrikaans heritage. A great signing of Jerry Danquah from the Border region. Thought he was a cert for the Kings.
@Roger: Roger maybe Mr Xander watched the same games I watched at the St Johns festival. He was a MNR at the Easter Festival. Only later heard he got injured before the Craven Week. In my opinion a very good player.
Beet, No32 is actually Tshepiso Mahasha, and you may add ** to his name as well.
Vir die tweede jaar in ‘n ry nie een van Grey College af nie?
@Woltrui: how did the Bulls get Devon Hensen!!!
LIKE IT! LIKE IT! LIKE IT!
Dankie BB.
In my opinie n baie goeie span. Groot en goeie pak. Be@liksemde agterlyn met BAIE potensiaal. Welkom manne. Oppas vir die girls daar by Hatfield. Geniet die stad. 8)
