Two of the most highly rated teams for 2016 will be in action on Saturday. Affies are expected to have their work cut out for them when they take on a relatively strong Helpmekaar team. Things should be a little easier for Monument who play against Transvalia in the Tuks Reeks.
The pick of the Tuks Reeks round of matches will see Garsfontein up against EG Jansen in what may still prove to be the group of death as it includes Menlopark. The latter will be looking to bounce back strongly against Marais Viljoen, after a heavy defeat in their round 1 game. Menlo’s junior A-teams were all impressive last weekend and they could be the school to give Monnas a run for their money as far as the overall rugby title is concerned.
The Nelspuit Rhinos are another team being tipped to perform well in the Tuks this season. They should be too strong for Rustenburg who’s fortunes are expected to change for the better in the years to come, thanks to a new rugby drive which is in its beginning stages.
The HTS Middelburg Rooibulle have been consistent achievers over the last few seasons. Waterkloof produced a respectable result at a trial game in Nelspruit and might still be finding their feet in 2016. They take on Goldveld on the weekend.
