A very brave and tough move by Grey Governing Body. However, the school will reap the benefits in the long run. best wishes to all parties involved.
@Han: This was long coming. Heard the murmurings – even from the former governing body. Without divulging into the specifics, this type of distrust normally occurs as a result of major differences in opinion and/or power hunger and/or control freakiness. When teachers loses confidence, feel threatened, or their passion to teach, the SGB can’t fire the principal, but they can send a signal by withdrawing the powers delegated to him/her.
Hope this can be sorted out soon as no school deserves such a situation.
so waaroor sou dit wees?
@Djou: Not fun at all! Went through this at our school and it was very exhausting + draining for our school community, but the school has benefited exceedingly from making tough decisions back then.
